Visit the Blue Grotto
Blue Grotto Location : Zurrieq. The Blue Grotto is considered the most renowned cave in Malta, featuring its deep waters displaying breathtaking sizzling colorations, ranging from aqua green to deep blue. Located near to the town of Zurrieq in the south west of Malta, the 43-metre (140-foot) high cave is hollowed out from the high cliff rockface. The waters around the limestone caverns and archways are said to be at their most remarkable early in the day once the sun’s rays glimmer through the opening to the grotto. The cavern was presented with its English title by British troops who thought that its glowing blue waters looked like the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) in Capri. To access the grotto, visitors have to travel by boat.
